Why do the numbers freeze after a score?

Live football data is recorded one play at a time. When a team scores, the play-by-play feed doesn't advance until the next snap, which is usually the kickoff. There's often a TV timeout in between. During that gap, the feed still describes the down, distance and field position from before the score.

Sportsbooks handle this window by pausing their live markets. When they reopen, usually after the kickoff or touchback, the line can move sharply because the other team now has the ball.

What this means for you:

  • Win % and fair lines can look extreme or wrong right after a score. That's timing, not a model error.
  • Book prices shown in this window may be stale or already suspended.
  • Prices settle once the receiving team's first play from scrimmage posts.
  • Our Trust score drops automatically during this window. Treat anything graded D or F as 'wait.'

What is a live fair line?

A live fair line is what the spread or total should be given the current score, time left, possession and both teams' scoring rates — before any sportsbook margin. livebetting.cash rebuilds it every possession and shows it next to the book's number.

Does the model just copy the pregame line?

No. The baseline comes from each team's recent points scored and allowed, weighted toward recent games. The posted line is not an input unless you turn on the market blend slider, which defaults to zero.

What do Bet, Wait and Pass mean?

Bet means the model's cover probability beats the book's break-even by at least four points. Wait means there is an edge but it is inside the vig, and the board tells you what has to happen for it to clear. Pass means the book's number is at or better than fair.

Which sports are covered?

NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball and MLB. Football and basketball are priced by the clock; baseball is priced by half-innings and base-out state.

Is livebetting.cash a sportsbook?

Yes. Open Settings on the live board and move the bet threshold, along with everything else the model uses — recency weighting, home edge, sigmas, possession counts and staking limits. Your settings apply instantly to every game on the board.
